Ever since my mom bought me my first issue of Wizard magazine back in the early 90’s, I always dreamed of being a comic book artist.  I’ve always thought of comic art as some of the most innovative and unique forms of figurative interpretation.  It’s art with a story. *Time travel* About a month ago, my buddy Jason introduced me to the Red Sonja contest.  I thought it would be a fun thing to do before I started taking custom orders for Christmas.  I searched around looking for inspiration, which I got in spades.  In fact, it was almost over-whelming the talent that was out there!  Being a responsible adult and shit, I submitted early.   I thought I was doing well for a bit, but toward the end of the competition I started getting nervous.  If you haven’t seen the submission yet, I challenge you to.  There were some AMAZING pieces in there.  I would hire anyone in the top four or runners up in a second.  However,...

Viral Halloween Pumpkin

This is the spooky tale of how our family pumpkin earned its 15 minutes of fame on the internets. It was a busy weekday night. The wife had just finished a real estate course and we finally had time to carve a pumpkin. Halloween was approaching and we were WAY behind. With one huge pumpkin between the two of us, we settled on carving the clown from the current season of American Horror Story (season 4), Twisty the Clown. Halfway through I decided it was good enough. I wanted to get super detailed, but after spending a good 3 hours on last years Darth Vader, I decided an hour was long enough. So finished up, took some pics, and posted it on Twitter (naturally ). We sat down to catch up on The Walking Dead when suddenly my phone started blowing up with Twitter notifications.
